Default Cold air grommet

So upon putting on a simple cold air kit from american muscle, I noticed that there are two holes in the upper intake tube, one for the stock inlet tube, and the other is a grommet hole in the tube, and there is no wire or anything to put in there. What goes there? Now it just whistles when I shift and go into high rpms. simple question, looking for some answers for a simple guy like myself, thanks.

haha mine did the same thing the one with the rubber is for the o2 sensor and you should have one. the other on connects to the tube going into your valve cover. that should be the answer to your question

thats really weird, because the only tube I had on the stock air assembly was the valve cover tube, nothing else was connected to the assembly, except the MAF which hooks up to the plug, of course. but if I dont have an O2 sensor then I should see some kinda OBD light on my gauges, right? As far as I can tell, everything runs fine, but I guess I have no O2 sensor...

You have a universal one like they sell on ebay. Some cars use the hole others dont. Mines the same way. That extra hole is nothing. Just cover it with electrical tape or something.

you could have it its just a small wire with a black little ball on it if its not in the thing the only thing i could think of is that its reading alot of o2 lol. But try and look around it should be along with the MAF wires. Oh yeah and did the the tube going from the valve cover did it fit right? B/c when i did i the size was way off and i had to pull out that little plastic thing and buy some bigger tube to conect them to gather.

I dont think he has a o2 sensor because on my 2002 I only had one thing going into my stock assembly. There isnt a 2nd hole anywhere on it.

I have an extra hole in my CAI as well, just covered it up. I actualy got some steel braided hose and a clamp fitting to put over it and ran the hose down beside it to where you can't see the end, kinda stupid but atleast It doesn't look like an unfinished CAI.

Cheddarbob: yeah that damn plastic thing would not fit(the one that goes to the valve cover) and I took it off also, but just cut the tube a little and slid it on tight. Still dont see any O2 wire, but it runs fine so what the hell, right? thanks for the help though guys.
