Default 4R70W Transmission help...

So before we did the jerry mod I had this problem a couple times, but it has progessively gotten worse and wose... Ive searched on other mustang and F150 forums about this problem aswell. Spike used his tuner to scan my car and it came up with the error for a Shift Accumulator A (1-2 shift) going bad...

So what happens is when im driving the car will either not shift into 2nd and goto like 4k rpm's making me have to let of the gas and punch it to get it shift... or it will studder and jerk the car rapidly, and once again i will have to floor it to get it to shift correctly, it usually doesnt do it once i just start driving, it seems like i have to get it warm so..

I read that you need two springs and a "piston" which is like 30 bucks, anyone else know or have fixed a shift accumulator problem. Let me know. Thanks.

Had the 4R70W in my 1994 4.6L T-bird. What a piece of **** tranny it was back then...Im sure the newer ones are better...but your issue sounds like what I was experiencing shortly before the tranny went out totally. Had to get a whole freakin new one...then about 2 years later I had to get another one. My only advice to you...if you have to replace it, try to find a different and better tranny to put in there. Or if you have to rebuid it, spend the $ and have it done right, by a person that deals with the 4R70W and can deck it out with all nice HD parts inside.

Talk to the guys at BC Automotive. They are the 4R70W experts, http://www.bc-automotive.com/html/contact_us.html.

That's what I told him to do.

I still think its not the bands, but rather the valve body has something up with it. Then again it was totally fine after we installed it for how long? And it was run super hot many times so who knows now.
