Default First Mustang

Hey everyone just bought my first car a 2001 v6 mustang. After about a month of driving it stock the itch came to see what mods are out there and thats how i ended up here Anyways so far Ive added a pypes catback and a bbk cai good so far but the urge to mod is still there. I have very little knowledge of working on cars so i don't know what to do next. My goal is to have a nice sporty daily driver thats a bit faster then the average car on the road. I'd appreciate any advice on what mods i should do that don't require to much automotive knowledge.

hey man welcome to the boards! well i recommend getting 4:10 gears on ur car and tlok. those are great mods that you will actually see an impact. bolt on mods make very little impact but im saving for this powerpack by supersix motors. its the one for 1998 stang.

you need the gear the t-loc and the rebuild kit and some oil.

you should have a shop do it, its not some thing you want to try.

all so if you do alot of high way driving you might want to get 3.73's so you dont lose you mpg.

call around to shops near you and see what the going rate is, its was around 300 ware i live.

but i dont have 4.10s

You're probably not going to want to hear this, but you'll need a lot of work to make your car even slightly faster than most average cars on the road..like a turbocharger or something. lol.

i had that chance as well, not a big deal.

anyway. go T-lock first then save up for a single turbo kit and make 300+rwhp easy.

you need to talk with _J_ on v6power.net

he lives in N.Y. and makes 611rwhp on his v6 mustang with 16psi.

Ive decided on getting sct x3 tuner for now then 4:10 gears and a tlok as soon as i have the cash. From what ive read a tune can increase power and/or gas mileage. I don't expect any huge increases but it should be worth it in the long run.

If it's cheaper, get the X2. The X3's extra features are only really useful with the computers in the 05+ stangs.
