Need some help!!

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum but have ventured on here reading many of the forums before. I've never really worked on my car much but I do know a little about it. I have a 01 GT with about 83000 miles on it. I bought it with 5000 so I had it most of its life and have had regular maintenance and all that done. Anyways, I got in my car this evening to run to the store and it all most died when I cranked it(dropping to like 200rpm and then recovering) well it then preceded to idle at like 400rpm and have some what of an inconsistent idle varying 100-200rpms over and under 400rpm. Not thinking to much about it I headed to the store and my service engine soon light came on. The store is close so it wasn't much of a drive there. After shutting it off and cranking it again to head back to the house it was still doing the same thing. A few weeks ago it started this thing where after I had been driving for a while it would idle at like 1000rpm and not stop until I would shut it off crank it back up and it would be fine. Please help!! I am supposed to leave to go home for thanksgiving tomorrow and I'm not sure if this is something that needs to be taken care of before the trip(about an hour and a half) THANKS!!!

you might have to chage you air filter, or you might have to clean you MAF or IAC.

Ok had a buddy pull the code at his shop. P1507= Idle air control underspeed error. what in the world does that mean?

Probably need to clean out or replace your IAC.

go to a ford dealership and purchase a new IAC. the IAC is the little solenoid looking thing connected to the plenum. those go bad and that was the first thing that came to mind when i read your problem. since yours tripped the CEL than you might as well change it.
