Dont date a woman that smokes. loll.
Other than that, just remember how disappointed you will be with yourself if you have that smoke.
forget the patch, forget the gum, that stuff never works.
How about this, every time you feel the need to smoke, do 20 pushups.
ive gone 4 days without a cig. i was to the point where i only smoked when i drank. So i had to cut out the drinking.
hang in there and try not to stress on it

i agree with Jack, the "stop smoking" aids do not do much
pushups.... good idea
Also, dont be around other smokers; reallllyyyyyy bad.
just stick with it, commit to yourself and like jack said, think of how bad you'll feel if you break down and do it.

You need to reward yourself for doing good though. Say... if you go a week you will buy something for the car, if you smoke, you can't. After a month you are going to go to the nicest steak house in the city. After a month you can buy some new rims, tires, something you always wanted for the car. That kinda thing. Doing something hard is always easier when you know "Hey if I can make it 8 more days my car gets new gears"

ROFL!!! lol
im one of the lucky ones i guess...
i have been smoking for 2 years now and just this last saturday was at home, hangin out and never had the urge to smoke.... if i am out or low on cigs, i just dont smoke. I can go a week, month, day, whatever without smoking.... im just not addicted. of course this raises the question "then y do you??"
well, i just enjoy a few cigarettes (<10) during my day. I get home, I dont smoke.... pretty simple.
i also agree with the reward system, good stuff

Alright so here is the plan (if this bores you guys sorry but this is really important to me) when I get home I'm going to toss out all the ash trays I have laying around. I'm not going to carry cash anymore cause I always paid for cigs with cash, it's pay at the pump for me from now on too. Out of sight/reach out of mind right? I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to get around hanging out with some of my buds because some of them smoke. I think i'm either going to ask them to try and quit with me or tell them to just flat out refuse to bum me smokes and to hold me to it. I've also discoverd the gum helps. Not nicoret or anything but just regular gum it's cheaper and last way longer it also helps keep my mind off smoking.

Wish I could tell you something. I watched my grandfather die of lung cancer, that has kept my from smoking. My other grandfather who has smoked his entire life just quit one day about a year and a half ago. My other friend who quit, started smoking in 5th grade (not like a pack a day but when he could sneak one) and then smoked about a pack a day when he turned 18. He just quit one day too, his second try though. So I don't know any good advice about quitting.

I've never really tried to quit before I always told myself that I could whenever I felt like it. Some of my friends told me I was addicted but I just laughed at them. Then one day my best friend says it and as I'm laughing it off he said "well if that's the way you feel go just one day without one" I said no problem......... I was wrong. That was about a month ago and now I'm determined that this thing isn't going control me anymore I'm done with it

I just glad I never smoked in the stang. In some of my cars I had before this one I would smoke while I drove but when I bought the mustang I decided I'd never smoke in her. It's nice not to have the car smell like smoke while I drive everywhere I don't know if I could stand it.

well, i just ended up at the hospital over the weekend cuz i had another seizure (i may have sleep apnea, i only have them when i just went to sleep or im beginning to wake up) and when i got to the hospital i had an irregular heartbeat.
ive been smoking for the past 8 months or so but im not addicted whatsoever. i really only smoke when i drink or when im out with friends, so i figure now is as good as time as ever to quit if its going to ease the pressure on my heart. i encourage you all to do the same.

I smoked a pack a day or better for 21 years. Stopped in October with minimal issue. First couple days are a matter of finding new habits to fill those bored moments you used to fill with a smoke. After you clear that it's fairly easy to deal. Don't trip if you slip and have 1. Just don't do it with any regularity. I've had like 3 non-clove cigarettes in the past 5 months. They taste more and more digusting as time moves on. Now I'm pretty well repulsed by the thought. Cloves are a slightly different story though.
I still smoke a clove cigarette after a spliff but that's 1 or maybe 2 a day there's no addiction or chronic cough anymore either.

I've gone a week now and the cravings aren't so bad or so often I chew gum alot now I've got a peice in almost all the time. I just can't beleive how much money I spent on smokes. I didn't always smoke 2 packs a day but if I average it out for the last five years at say a pack a day cause it has been about 2 packs a day for the past three years thats
365 x 4.50 x 5 = $8212.50 lets see thats forced induction, spray, rims and some suspension mods or I could have just bought a 99-04 GT if I had saved considering mine cost 3000 and I have about a grand in it
