that 04 cobra really whooped him though, though it seemed like the srt-4 was started to catch up at the end.
Well story is that, you can make just about any car fast with enough money. The GT500 only had a catback and something els. That SRT-4 probably had a 50trim and a shitload of other stuff. None the less the srt-4 was fast. But even if the srt-4 is still faster, id still take the GT500
This is a friends car that he is building up...tuned and custom turbo and motor internals done by AMS...car should be around the 550+hp range with 25 pounds... :druel:
The car in the video was around 380hp....do the math

there are videos of a minivan beating a camaro z28. point is anything can be made fast with money, including those ugly srt-4s. I bet both of those cars would win in a 1/4 race against the srt4 on slicks.
And I'm with the guys on streetfire..why don't you hear the S/C whine on the gt500 is it a fake? you can deffiantly hear it on the 04..
I saw one the other day take off from a light and I dident hear any whine..I barely heard it on my 04 when I had it..It whines more with a smaller pully or KB or whipple
In about two years you won't hear boo about these things anymore since they don't make them. And the ones that are left will either be blown apart from running 22 lbs of boost, or run into a tree by the inexperienced 17 year olds that drive them.
No self-respecting adult man would own one of these. This is the kind of car you buy for your teenage daughter and drive it every once in a while for kicks.
Are they fast? Sure. So what. I could strap a rocket on my back and hop on a sooter and beat a Vette, but I would still take the Vette.
Now, on the plus side about SRT-4's (man, is this going to get me bashed), in some ways an SRT-4 is not much different then a Mustang back in the 60's. The first Mustangs were cheap secretaries cars (ie just like Neons). Early Mustangs had no respect, but, they were cheap and sporty looking. Fact is, in the first 18 months of production, Ford sold a million Mustangs and most of them were slow-ass V-6 models.
As a joke, Shelby took one and made it fast. At first, he was embarrassed to be associated with the car, but he did it anyway. As a result, the Mustang has shared a storied history. In some ways, Dodge has tried the same old trick.
In 2025 if there is an SRT-4 featured at the Barret Jackson auction, then I will eat my words.....but I somehow doubt it.

The thing about these GT500s are that they are totally quiet. I know a fella who just bought 1 and I can attest that they are fast, but extremely quiet. You would never suspect it had that much power, you hear very little supercharger noise.
why does everyone race from a ROLL?? i mean yeah the srt4 was fast but doubt he'd kill the gt500 as bad from a dig! but gt500s are too heavy! good video tho!
Fact is, when I was a kid, you went out at raced from stop lights, but it is hard to do these days with the cops. Rolling racs are more stealth-like.
Also, when you drive a boosted car, especially one with LOTS of boots with little displacement, you really put yourself in the best poissible situation when racing from a roll.
Take a stock GT and an SRT-4. The GT will beat the SRT out of the hole, but at 75 miles per hour, the boost takes over. The two cars are about the same in the 1/4 mile, but the SRT-4 traps at a higher speed, so what does that tell you?
Now that I drive a boosted GT, I guess I have the best of both worlds - LOL

Dont get me wrong.....the gt500 is freakin sweet and like i said, i would take it over the srt anytime.....
for what the srt is worth and the cost to mod it and rebuild the motor....its a great car to have for a daily driver....you can get a used srt for 12,000 and put 10,000 in the motor and a new big turbo and u'll have a 400+hp daily driver that can beat 50,000+ gt500
still i would take the gt500 any day
oh i got plenty of more videos of srt-4 beating modded cobras/vipers/corvettes that i can post up also...
