New In Town! First Stang

Hey all I just got my First Mustang on Saturday. It is an 07 V6 with only 16k miles. Its a 5 Speed is all stock. Before this i had a 97 saturn sc2 which was also a 5 Speed. I was looking at some 3.73 gears but wanted to make sure i get the right ones. any help i believe i need the ones for a 7.5 rear is that correct? Also what other Mods do you guys suggest. I can prob spend about 200 a month on performance parts. or can save up to get something so i guess money is not to big of a deal. any help?

P.S. will get a picture up as soon as i get home from school

just go on how much ur willing to spend on mods, if u cant wait like i can then go ahead and get the bolt ons done first then the big stuff

cool. is it hard to put the gears in or would you recomend a shop do it?

engineman312 10-15-2008 03:42 PM

do 3.73s since you are a manual, and yes, get a shop to do it. even experienced mechanics have qualms doing gears. best bet is the FRPP gears for the 7.5" rear.

you have an 07, which is awsome. with a s197 mustang you gain some real power form even little things, like a cold air intake. however, you will need a tuner for EVERYTHING. the cars are really computer reliant. go to americanmuscle.com to look at parts. you can get a cold air intake and tuner for under $600 and get 20 rwhp.

i would definitely recommend getting a shop its a tricky install to do unless u really know what ur doing but it sounds like since ur new u should take it to a shop.

NewMustangMan 10-15-2008 03:49 PM

oh ok cool. Later would i also need to do the tlok or do the newer stangs already have that? THanks for all the help btw!

NewMustangMan 10-15-2008 03:53 PM

Also which tuner would you sugest? Is the SCT x3 good?

The x3 is very good. It'll allow you to adjust your tune for more parts that you add on later and is very easy to use.

wat he said. x3 is very good. i'm pretty sure you need a tlok if you want both wheels to sping.
