Default Getting wheels widened

I've always been a fan of the Saleen style wheels. My problem is I want to stay with the 17" wheels, which only come in 17 x 9 but I want to run a stagared set. Some of you have mentioned getting a set or wheels widened in the past.

Where would I go to get something like that done and how much should it cost?

This is who most people use to widen wheels. You have to email them to get a price for their work. From what I have seen its $150-200 to widen two wheels an extra 1-2 inches.

They can't (at least I've never seen it) actually DD a wheel, they simply cut the center section out and add a couple of inches in the middle. That's technically not "Dishing" the wheel, but they are making it physically wider......

Correct. It will still look the same from the front, but will hang over the calipers quite a bit more from behind. I was thinking about doing this for my soon to be wheels.

I wouldnt do it... I just dont trust the rim after it has been cut and modified. But im sure thousands of people could tell me they did it and havent had a problem. But I wouldnt wanna be the guy who did have a problem... at speed.
