Prochamber

i just installed an slp catback and want to buy an x pipe and was wandering if anyone has heard anything about the prochamber? thanx

DarkSith 12-22-2005 03:05 PM

Just get an SLP o/r X.

Mug11 12-22-2005 03:14 PM

The pro chamber will deff. liven up your exhaust alittle better than the X. Pretty much the same performance wise. If you got slp loudmouth, then it'll be :censored: Loud :shifty:

swervo 12-22-2005 04:07 PM

I had that combo on my GT. Here's a link to the exhaust vid I did. http://www.gotstang.com/profile.php?...=1&page=7#jump

jjtgiants 12-23-2005 12:09 PM

I don't think you can go wrong with the Prochamber or SLP X......it just depends what sound you want.

Saleen S330 01-20-2006 10:18 AM

Go with the X pipe. I had a friend put the prochamber on and it was disappointing. :nono:

Shambles 01-20-2006 10:31 AM

psst...Prochambers are H-Pipes, not X-Pipes.

Saleen S330 01-20-2006 10:35 AM

I know the pro is a H, but the prochamber is crap. Modulars love X pipes and pushrods love H pipes. The only reason i had to take off my UPR X pipe and put an H pipe on, is because i had to widen the H pipe, and i couldnt' do that to the X pipe, due to a 5.4 install.

Dont know what youre talking about, but im pretty damn sure I kept a LOT more bottom end with my prochamber than you did with your offroad X. Its a proven fact on these cars that if you go fully offroad, you will notice a loss in lower end torque, mine was bad enough, I cant imagine what losing EVERYTHING would be like. I also made 249 rwhp with JUST a prochamber and tb/plenum setup, so Id say 35 hpw between the two and a tune is pretty damn good. Take it for what its worth.

jjtgiants 01-20-2006 02:47 PM

Not sure how much I gained just from my Prochamber, but for sure it's not crap! I went with the prochamber because I wanted to save as much low end torque as possible.

Stan 01-20-2006 02:59 PM

i got 02 gt with magnaflow catbacks and was also interested in the prochamber can u really tell the difference with the prochamber? and will u be able to hear it at high rpms?.. because once i get over 2500 with the magnaflows i cant hear anything..

To be honest, I had my cat back & Prochamber w/cats installed at the same time so it's hard to tell. I should have gotten it dyno tuned mod by mod...oh well. I will say the prochamber w/cats and the magnaflow combo is very quiet. It's actually to quiet. It screams a little at high rpm, but it's still pretty quiet. I love Magnaflow, but I should have gone either with SLP Loudmouth II's for exhaust or an off road prochamber.

Stan 01-20-2006 03:29 PM

so u got the prochamber with cats?.. im talkin about the pro chamber without cats will that livin up my magnaflow catback?

jjtgiants 01-20-2006 03:36 PM

I'm pretty sure it would liven it up the magnaflows a little bit. ....I just don't know how much. Look on www.mustangexhaust.com and see if there are any sound clips of that combo.

dom 01-20-2006 04:10 PM

if you go off road exhaust you wont lose power you moron. TRAVERS' drag radial car gained 22rwhp just from removing his mufflers. its a 4.6

Saleen S330 01-21-2006 06:25 AM

Well after my friend installed his prochamber, we were ALL disappointed and then he took it off and bought an X pipe. I asked him about it and he noticed no loss in torque and loves the X pipe way more than the prochamber, and that's on his 2001 GT. So....i'll stick to my Opinion.

dom 01-21-2006 06:53 AM

hahahahahahaha

Where did he gain that power. Im telling you, when you get rid of ALL that backpressure, you should notice a loss in torque down low, its a proven fact. Anyway, no point in arguing it, if you dont like it, thats your opinion, and I wont force mine on you.

Now, to the guy asking about the magnaflows and prochamber, I have that combo, it will definately wake up the magnaflows, BUT prochambers LOVE a chambered muffler. It wont sound bad, but I miss my flowmasters but I really want some Mac's. We'll see though.

White04GT 01-21-2006 07:18 AM

if you want to be cheap get the prochamber and get what you pay for..If you are willing to dish the $ that is worth it in my opinion..well you won't be dissapointed with bassani o/r x or slp o/r x.

dom 01-21-2006 07:25 AM

show me where the fact is proven. the faster exhaust gasses are propelled from the engine, the more power the engine makes. if you dont agree, shoot yourself.

jacliff_3521 01-21-2006 07:53 AM

Just becuase its cheaper, hopefuly it doesn't mean its crap. MT has mine on back order. It wasn't a money thing for me. I'm putting a o/r pro chamber on with my slp loudmouth 1s. I don't know how much louder its going to make it. It should be loud enough for me. Disappointing? I dont think thats going to happen.

If you click factory Manifolds-prochamber-Magnaflow... you'll get probably the closest sound. http://mrt-direct.com/exhaustzone.php

I know sound clips don't do justice, but my car with just SLP loudmouth1s sounds louder. SWERVOs clip sounds more like what it will be. Maybe its because thats what it will sound like. When some clips say Pro Chamber though, most are not telling us if its O/R or catted. How much of a diff will it change the sound?żżż?

Red99GT 01-23-2006 01:41 PM

i have prochamber and loud mouth 1's and its loud as hell. Everyone stops and turns when I drive by, and people constantly tell me it sounds great and really loud. people hear me coming from 2 blocks away. :devil2:

dmenard74 02-15-2006 12:00 PM

MAC Prochamber

I just recently put on an offroad prochamber on my 99 gt and I found that I lost alot of low end torque. In fact it's so much of a difference, I am considering going back to the factory h pipe. Anyone else experience a huge loss in low end torque with an offroad prochamber? Is this the trade off for the louder sound?

RyanGT04 02-16-2006 07:52 AM

I have an O/R prochamber with flowmaster mufflers not the whole catback and i love it. Even before i put the flowmasters on there was a huge difference. It might not be as loud as SLP but it is very deep. Got a clip of the setup.
